Hazmat crews are responding to the scene of a possible mercury spill just to the northeast of Mustang, Okla., Friday afternoon.
Crews were called out to the scene in the 5500 block of S. Morgan Rd., north of E. State Highway 152 and east of S. Mustang Rd.
Authorities tell News 9 that the spill resulted from a broken barometer located in a barn on the property. The spill was contained and there were no exposures. No one was injured.
Mercury is a liquid metallic element commonly used in thermometers, barometers, fluorescent lamps, etc. It is highly toxic to humans.
