Metro Police Officer Arrested, His Past Called Into Question

A metro police officer's past was called into question. Officer Gregory Driskill was accused of using excessive force to arrest a man more than a decade ago. Friday morning he was arrested, accused of domestic abuse including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

It was not the first time this officer's actions have been called into question.

The place was surrounded by officers. Somebody inside called for help after being physically assaulted and assaulted with a weapon, and the man accused of doing it is a police officer. MSgt. Greg Driskill was arrested on domestic abuse complaints of Assault and Battery and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. He's a 16-year veteran with the Oklahoma City Police Department and assigned to the Santa Fe Patrol Division.

News 9 went to his home, but to respect the privacy of the victims in this case, we didn't report any details surrounding the innocent.

Bob Mills SkyNews 9 HD was overhead as officers from both Mustang and Oklahoma City responded to the call.

But it was not the first time Driskill's aggressive behavior has been an issue. In 2002 Driskill was seen arresting a suspected 'John' during a prostitution call.

You can see Driskill hit the man repeatedly and then begin beating him with his baton. Eventually another officer gets on scene and joins. Both officers were officially cleared of any wrongdoing and no charges were ever filed.

However, the questionable incident did lead to agreements to work on race relations with the NAACP. Now, more than a decade later, Driskill was once again in the spotlight. This time not while out on a call, but at his own home.

Driskill has been placed on administrative leave while an investigation is underway.
