Police say a masked man tried to force his way into an Edmond Home, but the homeowner managed to grab his gun and shoot the invader in the face.
It all happened around 7 a.m. on Tuesday near 2nd and Bryant.
According to police, the suspect, now identified as Kody Gillian, tried to force his way into a home at 1723 Pebble Terrace. The homeowner, Christopher Davis, woke to his dog alerting him that someone was at the door. When Davis opened it, a masked man tried to force his way inside.
“I opened up the door and he came in swinging a baseball bat. I ran to the kitchen, grabbed a gun and shot his ass,” Davis told 911 dispatchers.
Police said Davis fired three shots and one bullet hit Gillian in the face.

Davis said Gillian took off running out the front door. And just minutes later, 911 received a call from a woman saying her boyfriend had been shot.
“I don't know what happened. The father of my children just came walking in with blood and his mouth was really not normal,” she said.
It didn't take investigators long to figure out that after he was shot, Gillian ran across 2nd street to his girlfriend's apartment.
Davis later told News 9 that he likely had a broken hand from the whole ordeal. Soon he learned he knew the suspect. Police say it was his former stepson.
Gillian was taken to OU Medical Center. The Edmond Police Department will present charges to the OK County DA's office of First-Degree Burglary and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
