Just days after the four year anniversary of a tornado that destroyed one of its flagship stores, Love's Travel Stop re-opened Thursday in Choctaw.

The original Love's was ripped apart by the May 10, 2010 tornado.

General Manager Warren Waltz says he remembers that day well. He says just before the twister hit, several motorists ran inside for cover.  He says he put them in a giant walk-in cooler and the store's two bathrooms for cover. Incredibly, no one was seriously hurt.

The new Love's is almost seven times bigger than the old location, which was at across Choctaw Road and next to I-40.  Waltz says the new store will be open every day.

"24-7, 365, unless we're hit by another tornado," he smiled Thursday.
