Prosecutors are expected to file a first degree murder charge against a teenager already charged in the fatal shooting of a college baseball player from Australia, News 9 has learned.
A source tells News 9 that prosecutors plan to dismiss previous youthful offender charges against 17-year-old Michael Dewayne Jones and will instead charge him with first degree murder in the August killing of 22-year-old Christopher Lane.

Jones is currently charged with using a vehicle in the discharge of a weapon and accessory after the fact. Two other teenagers are charged with first-degree murder in the case.
Jones is scheduled to appear Wednesday in court in Stephens County for a preliminary hearing. We're told his preliminary hearing on the new murder charge will happen in November.
Lane, from Melbourne, was preparing to enter his senior season at East Central University when he was shot as he jogged in Duncan.
Police have said Jones told authorities the boys were "bored" when they targeted Lane. Autopsy results showed that Lane died from a gunshot wound to the back.
