Humane Society Reunites 44 Dogs With Their Families Following Tornado

Following the tornado, many pets were seen running free in the neighborhoods, looking for their families. That's when the Central Oklahoma Humane Society stepped in to help.

Many families in Moore and Oklahoma City lost their beloved furry friends, after a massive EF-5 tornado swept through the area Monday afternoon.

As a result, 24 people were killed, and hundreds were injured. Over 12,000 homes in the tornado's path were destroyed.

Following the tornado, many pets were seen running free in the neighborhoods, looking for their families. That's when the Central Oklahoma Humane Society stepped in to help.

Volunteers took in these homeless animals and gave them shelter. And now, they are helping these animals find their families.

According to the Humane Society, volunteers took in 109 dogs and cats. So far, 44 dogs have been reunited with their owners.
