Crews Battle Large House Fire Near Norman

Firefighters battled a massive house fire near Norman for about an hour Tuesday afternoon.

Crews were called to 21041 Big Jim Road near Dobbs Road and E. Tecumseh in Little Axe just before 1 p.m. When they arrived, they found a house fully engulfed in flames in a heavily-wooded area.

Firefighters fought the massive flames, and extinguished them around 1:40 p.m. They stayed on the scene to put out hot spots.

There were no reports of injuries due to the fire.

Neighbors did report hearing explosions before seeing the flames, but it's not known yet what started the fire.
