Saturday morning the public gets its first look inside the masterpiece of a public park.
After years of hard work and anticipation, Park Director Tony Moore is excited to show it off.
“You know it is built up anticipation for quite a while. Our Tulsa community has been so patient waiting with us with Riverside being down. Everyone has been so kind and accommodating but its time," Moore said.
Moore and his team have spent extra time focusing on public safety inside the park.
He wants it to be a place that draws in everyone from the community.
"At the end of the day safety is the responsibility for everyone so as you come out please conduct yourself in a responsible safe manner. Put the cell phones down. Enjoy your family. Enjoy your friends," Moore said.
Moore has had a history of working with big parks but said this one is special.
"The warm and fuzzy's behind this one go beyond just commerce and sale and ticket sales. In fact, there's no ticket sales. This is a free park," Moore said.
You'll find more than 100 different activities inside the free park along with state of the art playground equipment but it's not all just for kids.
"When I was little I would go to the park. But now that I am a little bit older I get to go to this park. I mean that's amazing," said Kid Park Ambassador Ariana Reagor.
"You know I have been on every slide. And the good thing is they are so well designed for adults as well so adults can experience it with their families so that’s what’s cool about it," said Moore.
Moore said that after having some adults in the park they asked for an adult day so that may be in the works.
