Oklahomans Make Last Minute Super Bowl Preparations

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Thousands across the country are making their final preparations for what's considered the second biggest eating day of the year after Thanksgiving.

Football fans are stocking up on plenty of food for Super Bowl Sunday. It's estimated that Americans will eat over 14,000 tons of chips alone on Sunday.

At Crest Foods in Edmond, shoppers were getting their game plans together for a play that could be named the "double whammy."

"So they're getting in here for the Super Bowl, and while they're in here, they're getting ready for the winter weather coming up. You can't be caught at home with no food," said Dale Brooks, Crest Foods.

Buffalo Wild Wings is also expecting to score with football fans.

"Wings is primarily what we do. We're going to do a lot of them tomorrow. We're going to be extremely busy," said Mark Burden, Buffalo Wild Wings.

In fact, the restaurant was already taking orders on Saturday for Sunday's big game.

"We're trying to take as many initial to go orders for tomorrow as we can to speed up the process," Burden said.

Super Bowl coverage begins Sunday on NEWS 9 at 5 p.m.
