Oklahoma Sets New Annual Record For Tornadoes

The year 2019 has brought numerous weather extremes to Oklahoma, and now we’ve got a new tornado record to add to the list.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has confirmed another tornado from the night of October 20th, an EF-0 tornado near Boynton.

This brings the 2019 Oklahoma tornado count to 146 tornadoes and counting. That breaks the old record of 145 tornadoes, set back in 1999.
