Tulsa Police say a man is in jail Friday morning after he started shooting down a street in Brookside.
Police say the man who fired the shots had been drinking moments before the incident. Witnesses say Antonio Henderson had been arguing with a group of people, then started driving back and forth in the area.
He eventually got out of his car near Sharky's in the 3400 block of South Peoria. Witnesses said at one point, Henderson stopped in the middle of the road, got out and started shooting toward the ground, according to police.
Officers said that someone had wrestled Henderson to the ground, pushed the gun away and held him down until officers showed up.
That person told officers they had to stop Henderson because they thought he was about to shoot at people nearby.
Lindsay Parks lives and works nearby and said it is extremely unusual for Brookside, and she's glad someone stopped Henderson before people got hurt.
""The time of day that it happened at makes me a little nervous for my family but it does make me a little worried as a patron and someone who works in midtown and someone who lives here."
Henderson is now facing charges for assault with a deadly weapon and reckless handling of a firearm.
