Good Samaritan Helps Shooting Victim, Tulsa Police Say

One man is in the hospital after Tulsa police say he was shot on the side of I-244 Wednesday morning.

Police say a good Samaritan was driving eastbound on I-244 near Memorial when he saw a man and woman fighting outside of their car on the shoulder. The witness told police that the woman drove off, leaving the man behind.

The driver pulled over and realized the man had been shot in the torso. Police say he called 911 and took the man to a parking lot near Admiral and Mingo where the victim told police that he was shot by the woman. He was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

Tulsa police found the woman involved, 25-year-old Ashley Ellis, Wednesday afternoon after getting a tip from a citizen who knew her name and location. They also found the vehicle and gun used in the shooting.

After questioning, she was arrested on complaints of domestic assault with a deadly weapon
