Bacone College will soon have new ownership.

The United Keetoowah Band announced it will move forward with chartering the private Muskogee school. The tribe says it hopes to turn Bacone into a tribal college for all Native American students.

The school struggled through much of 2018 with a lack of funding, leading to cuts of staff and sports programs.
