Tulsa will honor Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy Monday during its annual MLK Day parade. This year's theme is "Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow - the Dream Is Forever."
The parade started at 11 a.m. and went on John Hope Franklin Boulevard then turns onto North Greenwood before ending on Archer.
Organizers said the parade is designed for everyone to have fun while celebrating Dr. King's legacy. Organizers say the parade is designed for everyone to have fun while celebrating King's legacy.
Money from the entries goes to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Society which provides leadership opportunities and scholarships for more than 20,000 students in the Tulsa area. Organizers say more than 10,000 people attend the parade each year.
There were more than 100 floats in downtown Tulsa and many groups have been participating in this event for years.
"We look forward to this every year; we start working on it in December and even before that," said Nick Eglinton, Home Depot float.
"The past 10 years or more than that that we've done this. We don't get together with other stores very often but when we so when we get together and march out here to reunite with all these folks."

The City of Tulsa closed streets affected by the parade.
This is the 40th year for the Tulsa parade.
Hundreds of Tulsans are also honoring Dr. King's memory by taking part in service projects around town including one at Hale Junior High.
