Okmulgee Co. Judge Refuses To Recuse Herself In Amy Hall Murder Trial

An Okmulgee County judge refused to recuse herself from the trial of a Beggs-area woman accused of killing two of her children while they slept and wounding a third.

Amy Hall was in court Tuesday, January 15 after her defense attorney requested Judge Pandee Ramirez recuse herself because she has "connections to a deprived case."

The judge was involved in a hearing on the care of the surviving child.

Hall started crying just seconds after she walked into the courtroom then later broke down in tears a second time. Her attorney argued that Judge Ramirez would not give Hall a fair trial because the judge was involved in a hearing that focused on the care of Hall's surviving child Nikole.

Deputies say Hall also shot Nikole, but the teenager survived.

Prosecutors said there's no evidence the judge is biased.

"They are required to present facts and evidence to support their position," said District Attorney Carol Iski. "So far, they're just presenting speculation and innuendo."

Defense For Beggs Murder Suspect Asks Judge To Recuse Herself 

The judge said she wants to move forward with the case and set Hall's preliminary hearing for 9 a.m. March 8.
