Skiatook Man Killed In Traffic Accident Will Have One Last Ride

Skiatook Man Hit, Killed On Tulsa Co. Highway

One of those friends was 14-year-old Ardy, Robert called her Li’l Cuz. She said she rode with Robert every day for three years straight. She was being bullied in school, she said, so Robert taught her to ride.

“He always told me I can’t get bullied no more, ‘cause I’m on a horse,” she said.

Ralph Williams Jr described Harper as a friend and neighbor.

“He’s a good neighbor, lives next door to me out there,” he said.

Charlie Brown said Robert Harper was like a brother and that they enjoyed the rodeo together. Their favorite event was the Wild Horse Race. Three-man teams competed to rope a wild mustang, saddle it and ride it across the finish line.

Boop Williams said Robert was good at it. “During that event, nobody goes to get a pop,” he said.

They'll all miss him, but Ardy's got something special planned for Friday's Skiatook Christmas Parade.

"I’m gonna put his jacket and his hat on his horse. I'm gonna lead the horse and he's gonna have the last ride," she told us with a smile.

There is an account set up at Exchange Bank. Donations may be made at branches in Owasso, Sperry and Skiatook. The money will help with funeral and related expenses.
