A Tulsa man is in jail after police say he called to say he had shot his fiancee Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the suspect, Gregory Trombley, was waiting on the porch for officers when they got to the home near 87th and Yale and his 60-year-old ex-girlfriend was dead from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken downtown for questioning.
Police say Trombley told the responding officers he is mentally ill.
Investigators have not been able to confirm Trombley's claims.
"It would be interesting to know what you all want to know, which is the why. What precipitated this. We will have to find the victim's family, which we are in the process of doing, to find out what kind of issues they had," said Tulsa Police Sergeant Dave Walker.
Walker said Trombley and the victim were not living together and had separated sometime prior to the shooting.
Police said no one in the area heard or saw anything.
They also say they don't know a motive for the shooting so far and there doesn't appear to be any criminal history from either of them.
