Federal prosecutors are charging a Claremore doctor and several of his patients with one count each of drug conspiracy and 10 counts of distribution of hydrocodone.
News On 6 first told you about this story in November 2017, when Dr. Jeremy Thomas admitted to writing prescriptions for hydrocodone pills without a real medical need and with an understanding that the patient would give him some of the pills in return.
The federal indictment listed five other people, Chad Choat, Shawn Martin, Toni Martin, Jeffrey Koger and Joseph Jones.

According to the grand jury indictment, Dr. Thomas would write prescriptions for hydrocodone, the five would then fill the prescription at a pharmacy and then give the hydrocodone back the Dr. Thomas.
Dr. Thomas was employed by Hillcrest Medical Systems as an orthopedic surgeon where he would perform up to 12 procedures a week. He is no longer employed there.
