After weeks of student field trips at Tulsa’s Gathering Place, the fun is ending this week – for a little while.
The park is closing again so construction crews can finish work in time for a summer opening.
Over the last 7 weeks, 34,000 children visited.

It's been a big hit, but there is more work to do.
The rest of phase one remains unfinished, and that's what starts now.
Tony Moore, Gathering Place Manager, says "oh, there's a still a lot more work to be done, trees to be planted, a lot of railings, permanent railings to be installed. We went through a lot of painstaking efforts to have kids here in the park during this window. We really wanted them to have a first look and have the kids get excited about it."
As for the re-opening, when it's open for everyone – that date is still to be determined.
Moore says they're waiting to see how spring rains impact their work before finalizing the grand opening.
