Lots of people love getting roses on Valentine's Day, but this year an unexpected source delivered many of those Valentine surprises.
Bet you didn't know A New Leaf in Broken Arrow was into Valentine roses.
“60 dozen last year, this year we sold about 183 I believe," said New Leaf CEO Mary Ogle.
A New Leaf has been around for 40 years, growing and selling plants, but Ogle said that ultimately helps them do much more.
“We get folks with a developmental disability and help them be independent," she said.
This week a bunch of those clients like Jonathan and Michelle and Kelcee are out delivering valentine surprises, and getting hugs.
While they're out doing that, others are getting ready for planting season, filling pots with soil.
They have three acres out back where they grow 'em. They call it Blooming Acres.
In the meantime, they’re making Valentine’s Day Memories for themselves and others.
You can find out more about A New Leaf's programs, and get on the list for roses for next Valentine's Day through their website.
