The Oklahoma State Cowboys are regrouping after a setback in the Big 12 opener; penalties and turnovers kept them from a comeback win at home against TCU.
Disappointment and frustration may be the main feelings among the Cowboy faithful after Saturday's loss, but inside the program the message is simple - identify the issues, and there were a few against the Frogs, and keep working to improve.
"You don't sell the farm and change what you're doing, like a lot of people would like. You make minor corrections that are actually feasible to manage within a two to three day period to get ready to play again. Last week their intensity and individual and their focus in practice was awesome," said OSU Head Coach Mike Gundy.
The next challenge for OSU comes Saturday night in Lubbock against a 3-0 Texas Tech team that looks to be improved on the defensive side of the ball.
"They're playing better in my opinion. And I think they would like to pressure you more than what they have in the past, yes," Gundy said.
There's reason to believe the Cowboys will rebound this week. The loss to TCU featured four turnovers and at least 75 yards in penalties - that's only happened four times in the last 10 years.
A cleaner effort would go a long way toward a win in Lubbock.
