A favorite place to visit this time of year is a museum gift shop.
"They are a rendition of a tree," said Philbrook Museum shop manager Susan Shrewder.
The Philbrook shop is full of seasonal items created by local artists.
Lisa Regan created some designs that “can hang on your door, or can be on a package," said Shrewder.
Virginia Harrison created some cast glass snowflake ornaments, and Briana Helfey-Shephard, who normally makes quilts, created handcrafted, quilted pot holders.
“I can make pot holders,” said Hefley-Shepard. “They are small functional quilts.”
Hefley-Shepard made the potholders with contemporary and vintage fabric.
“This was fabric from my great-grandmother," she added.
The shop is loaded with other holiday ideas such as books, games, toys for kids and jewelry. And when you shop, maybe, half what you spend helps the museum.
Friday and Saturday night, the museum and gift shop will be open until 8 p.m.
