Sallisaw officials say manganese is causing discoloration in its treated water supply.
The city tells KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith, the manganese is causing a green or yellow tint to the water.
Sallisaw says the water is still safe to drink.
It says manganese is typically an issue in the spring or fall due to water temperatures and other factors.
Sallisaw workers at the water plant are making adjustments to the treatment process.
