You may get crucial information in the mail about the new Oklahoma license plates and not even realize it.
The front is standard. I need to renew my registration by the end of the month. It says how much I owe and how to pay it.
But the back tells me when I need to get those new scissortail-design license plates.
You don't have to get the new plates until after they expire after January 1, 2017. So for now, you don't have to do anything other than your regular registration renewal.
When it comes time to get new plates after January, it'll cost you five dollars more than this year.
This is also important. There are instructions on how to keep your current license plate number instead of getting a new one. That will cost an extra $18.
