An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report states unsafe speed and wet roads were to blame for a three-vehicle crash on the Will Rogers Turnpike Thursday evening.
Troopers said a pickup truck and two motorcycles were heading west on I-44, west of Claremore, when a 2015 Dodge pickup, driven by Charles Ross, 35, of Stilwell hydroplaned and went into the center wall just after 9 p.m. Ross and his passenger, Lesley Pooler, 35, of Broken Arrow were not injured.
The two motorcycles then hit the truck and all three went into a ditch.
The rider of a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle, Barney Whorton, 53, of Tulsa was taken to a Tulsa hospital. He was admitted in fair condition.
The rider of the other motorcycle, a 2014 Harley Davidson, 42-year-old Joseph Gafford of Claremore, refused treatment at the scene.
