Wagoner county sheriff Bob Colbert and his deputy Jeff Gragg will stand trial on bribery charges.

But the judge dropped the felony extortion charges that Colbert and Gragg faced.

Colbert and Gragg are scheduled to be arraigned on September 7.

The Oklahoma Attorney General’s office says the two took money from Terrel Wallace and a 17-year-old passenger after they were stopped and arrested in Wagoner County back in 2014.

They say after the two were arrested and taken to jail, they were told they could go if they forfeited the $10,000 found in the car during that stop.

The defense alleges that money is drug money and was legally seized.
