The challenger in the Tulsa mayor's race gathered endorsements from five former Tulsa mayors Friday.
G.T. Bynum announced Friday morning that former mayors both Republican and Democrat now support him in the race against current Mayor Dewey Bartlett.
The group gathered Friday morning to talk about why they support Bynum.
Former Mayors Susan Savage, Kathy Taylor, Terry Young, Dick Crawford and Robert LaFortune all are behind Bynum.
"It's time for the post baby boomer generation to take over the leadership of this city. I'm a baby boomer and I recognize the direction this city needs to go," said Terry Young.
"To have five people who have served in the office and who love Tulsa, who know what it takes to do that job, who have confidence in my ability to do it for a city they love, it means a great deal to me," G.T. Bynum.
Mayor Bartlett has a number of high profile endorsements as well. His endorsements include former mayor and current U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe as well as former Senator Tom Coburn and and several prominent Republican groups.
