The Oklahoma Highway Patrol closed a section of Highway 169 in Nowata County because of smoke from a grass fire Thursday afternoon.
Troopers said both north and southbound lanes of the highway were closed between Delaware and Lenapah for about an hour. The fire jumped the highway and was moving to the northeast.
Just before 2 p.m., the OHP reopened the highway.
Just after 2 p.m. troopers closed Highway 10 near Wann. It was reopened around 4:30 p.m.
Firefighters from 15 departments are working to contain the fire. They worked to protect several homes and buildings near Lenapah.
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Fire Warning for almost all of northeast and eastern Oklahoma until 7 p.m.
