Police have identified the man who was severely beaten Tuesday night outside a midtown Tulsa convenience store.
Homicide Sergeant Dave Walker said the victim, Brobegger Willis, remains hospitalized. His condition has been upgraded from grave to extremely critical, Walker said.
Authorities continue to search for the suspect, William "Brent" Cooper. Witnesses tell police Cooper assaulted Willis outside the Super Stop in the 400 block of East 11th Street.

Willis, 34, was reportedly talking to two women when Cooper attacked him with a metal object thought to be a tool.
"It is rumored that Cooper used to date one of the females," Walker said in an earlier news release.
Cooper "hit the victim multiple times causing severe head injuries," the release states Willis had massive head injuries and underwent surgery at a Tulsa hospital.
Cooper is described as a white male, 5-feet-10-inches tall and around 155 pounds. Tulsa Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
