A Saturday afternoon wreck at Oologah Dam has killed at least one person and injured three others, according to the OHP.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a 1991 Pontiac Firebird was headed west on Highway 88 at about 4 p.m. when it missed the curve at the dam, went through a fence, rolled end over end multiple times and went through some trees before falling down a limestone cliff on the west side of the dam.
The car ended up on its top and was barely recognizable because it was so heavily damaged.
The driver was Eric Coager, 34, of Collinsville. The investigating trooper says Coager smelled like alcohol and was driving an unsafe speed, according to the OHP report.
Angela Brown, 32, also of Collinsville, was riding in the car and died after being ejected. A first responder said an 11-year-old boy was also ejected and was in critical condition. The first responder said an 8-year-old boy got out of the car himself but had serious injuries.
The man driving the car had to be cut out of it and was in critical condition.
Coager and one of the backseat passengers were wearing seat belts, the OHP report says.
