Tulsa Settles Lawsuit With Former Firefighter Over Demotion

The City of Tulsa is settling a lawsuit from a former Tulsa Fire Department District Chief, who claimed he was demoted without cause.

Jeremy Moore, once the Administrative Chief at Tulsa Fire, was demoted shortly after the city named Ray Driskell as Chief in 2012.

Moore had applied for the job. Moore eventually became chief of the Broken Arrow Fire Department.

The City of Tulsa is settling the case for $60,000.

The settlement states the payment is not an admission of guilt on behalf of Driskell. The payment will come from the City's sinking fund, which is replenished with property taxes collected inside the city limits.
