A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for several eastern Oklahoma counties through 10 p.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service issued the watch for Adair, Cherokee, Craig, Delaware, Haskell, Latimer, LeFlore, McIntosh, Mayes, Muskogee, Ottawa, Pittsburg, Rogers, Sequoyah and Wagoner counties.
News On 6 WARN Team meteorologist Mike Grogan said there's a two-part storm threat coming into Green Country starting Tuesday afternoon.
"Hail and high winds are the main threat," he said in his weather blog. Areas along and east of Highway 69 may see a broken line of storms somewhere from near Grove to Muskogee and perhaps as far south as McAlester.

"The more widespread threat of severe weather returns Wednesday afternoon. Our winds will quickly pivot back to the south in the morning hours allowing moisture and warmth to quickly return," he said.
"As our instability peaks in the afternoon, that front should be poised just northwest of Tulsa, angling into southwestern Oklahoma.
Widespread storms are expected to develop by mid-afternoon Wednesday with a hail threat initially.
"A brief tornado can't be ruled out, but these storms will rapidly evolve into a squall line by sunset and push southward," Grogan said.
