TU Football Coaching Candidate

How close is TU to naming a new head football coach? One source says the process could be wrapped up as early as Friday.

It is not known exactly how many candidates may still be in the mix, but multiple sources say Utah State's Matt Wells is still under consideration.

The 41-year-old was the Mountain West Coach of the Year last season. The Sallisaw native was on the TU staff, coaching tight ends. He also was the recruiting coordinator from 2002-2006, first under Keith Burns and then Steve Kragthorpe.
