National Weather Service: Tulsa, McAlester Set New Record Lows

Tuesday morning's low temperature of 14 degrees in Tulsa beat the record low by 5 degrees for this date set in 1951.

Tuesday morning's low temperature of 14 degrees in Tulsa beat the record low by 5 degrees for this date set in 1951. 

The National Weather Service says Tulsa wasn't the only Oklahoma town to set a record Tuesday.  The Pittsburg County community of McAlester's temperature of 15 degrees Tuesday, beat a record set in 1959 of 17 degrees. 

The NWS office in Tulsa reports several Oklahoma cities reported single digit lows Tuesday morning:

  • Miami 8
  • Nowata 8
  • Vinita 8
  • Foraker 9
  • Bartlesville 9

A number of cities were slightly warmer:

  • Jay 10
  • Pryor 11
  • Westville 11
  • Tahlequah 12
  • Wynona 12
  • Bixby 13
  • Haskell 13
  • Sallisaw 13
  • Jenks 13
  • Skiatook 14
  • Stigler 14
  • Muskogee 14
  • Hectorville 17
