Garth Brooks announced that he is coming Tulsa, 17 years after his last concert in the city. The country music legend said he and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, will play at the BOK Center next year.

Thousands are expected to be in Tulsa, ready to give the state's most legendary music act a welcome he could only find in Oklahoma.

“The anticipation for this show is huge. It's been our number one requested act since we've opened, hands down,” said BOK Center General Manager, Jeff Nickler.

Brooks helped cut the ribbon when the BOK Center opened in 2008, but despite hope and speculation, he wasn't the opening show.

Nickler said, for Garth, it wasn't the right time.

The timing hasn't been right since 1997 when he sold out four shows at the old Drillers stadium.

But now Oklahoma is going wild after the announcement that Brooks will be playing in the BOK for the first time on January 15th; and he'll play two more shows on the 16th and 17th.

What's really cool about his show is, whether you're up in the rafters, or down on floor with front row seats, every ticket costs exactly the same - $70 - but getting your hands on a ticket is going to be the hard part.

“They're gonna go quick,” Nickler said.

He expects all three shows - a total of 52,500 seats - to sell out in minutes.

The good news is that the country music icon is known to add shows when that happens, and Nickler said there's a chance that could happen in Tulsa.

“Absolutely not ruling it out, at this time we're confirmed for three shows only, there is a possibility, as in other markets, where he could add additional shows,” Nickler said.

Tickets go on sale at 10:00 a.m. next Friday, November 14th.

They'll only be available by phone or online at Brooks' website and ticketmaster.com.
