American Airlines and Tulsa International Airport celebrated the inaugural flight of the airline's first nonstop flight from Charlotte, North Carolina Wednesday.
A ribbon cutting ceremony for the first flight was held at the airport just after the flight landed.
American says adding direct service to Charlotte will provide Tulsa with more access to the U.S., Europe and Latin America.
The twice-daily flights will be operated by US Airways Express.
