The City of Broken Arrow has scheduled a series of meetings to seek community input on the 2014 recommended general obligation bond projects, a news release says.
Voters must approve bond projects in order for the city to secure the debt financing.
The bond program will be developed in such a manner that citizens will not have an increase in the millage payment on city debt. As done historically, the millage will remain unchanged, officials said.
The proposed general obligation bond program would add new streets, repair existing streets, improve public safety by adding new equipment and facilities, create a new dog park, enhance existing park amenities and more.
The mayor and city council set the election date as August 26 and staff will present the recommended projects to the mayor and city council at the June 2. City council meeting. At that time, council will vote on the recommended projects.
The first of five informational meetings is scheduled for May 19. A schedule of all ward meetings is listed below.
