Five adults and two children are homeless after a northwest Tulsa house fire early Saturday morning. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to District Chief Jeremy Moore of the Tulsa Fire Department.

Fire crews were called to the 3500 block of West Admiral at about 2 a.m. and found flames shooting from the front part of the house. Family members tried to put the fire out, and one person sustained some minor burns to their legs, Moore said.

Injuries were not bad enough to require hospitalization but were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The family was standing in the front yard when firefighters arrived, and crews rescued a family pet that was trapped inside, Moore said.

Moore said there was a significant amount of damage to the home, especially the living area and bedrooms.

The Tulsa Area Red Cross is providing the family with emergency aid, according to the district chief.
