Work Begins On Tulsa Children's Museum Discovery Lab

An abandoned Tulsa rec center is becoming a children's museum.

The Owen Park Rec Center will become the Tulsa Children's Museum Discovery Lab, with rotating exhibits, emphasizing science, technology, engineering and math.

"Of the top 100 metropolitan areas in the country, Tulsa is the only one without a science museum or children's museum," said Executive Director Ray Vandiver.

Organizers admit there's a lot of work to do, but still plan to open sometime this spring.
