TULSA, Oklahoma – TU guard Jordan Clarkson, who recently requested a release from Tulsa in order to transfer, will be taking his talents to the University of Missouri.

Clarkson reportedly also received interest from other schools such as UCLA, Illinois, Duke and Arizona.

He averaged 16.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists last season as a sophomore and will have to sit out for a year before taking the court as a Tiger.

Clarkson is actually the fourth player to transfer into Missouri this offseason.

TU coach Doug Wojcik was fired after this past season and former KU assistant Danny Manning took over as the head coach. But Clarkson didn't give any reason regarding his transfer.

Meanwhile, the Golden Hurricane picked up a commitment from Kansas City-area guard Shaquille Harrison.

Harrison is a 6-3, 175-pound senior at Lee's Summit (Mo.) West High School. He averaged 17.3 points and seven rebounds while leading his team to a 27-4 record and the state semifinals.

Manning said he and the rest of the staff and team are excited to have Harrison on board.

"We're very fortunate in a sense that he was still available at this late stage in the recruiting game because of how talented of a player he is and the quality of young man that he is," he said. "The one thing that really stands out about Shaq is his determination and how hard he plays, especially on the defensive end of the floor."

Harrison joins a class consisting of Dallas-area forward Zeldric King, Edmond guard James Woodard and Lawton forward D'Andre Wright.
