Oklahoma native Garth Brooks is scheduled to appear in a Rogers County courtroom in Claremore Tuesday afternoon as a 2-year-old lawsuit finally goes to trial.

The suit stems from a $500,000 donation Garth Brooks made to the hospital in his hometown of Yukon in 2008.

The singer claims Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital courted his donation with a promise of honoring his mother by constructing a new wing under her name.

That never happened. The hospital notified Garth Brooks that it was spending the money on other projects.

The hospital claims the money was an "anonymous and unconditional" gift and that the singer is attempting to add conditions to the gift after it was given.

The trial is set to begin at 1 p.m. with jury selection.
