Drought relief continues to come for parts of Oklahoma, especially eastern Oklahoma. The latest Drought Monitor shows a downgrade from "severe" to "moderate" drought for parts of Tulsa County.

Portions of Adair, Cherokee, Adair and Sequoyah counties are now just considered "abnormally dry," the lowest drought classification.

News On 6 meteorologist Michael Grogan says Green Country has seen the most drought improvement this month.

Much of northwest and far southeastern Oklahoma remains in dire drought conditions.

The drought improvement in eastern Oklahoma is thanks to rainfall over the past month or two.  In fact, Tulsa is nearly 2 inches above normal in rainfall for the month of November. However, year-to-date, Tulsa still has a deficit of 8 and a half inches of rain.

Oklahoma City remains in a severe drought category.

Grogan talks about the improving drought situation in eastern Oklahoma on his weather blog.
