Former Creek County Donald Thompson Judge Arrested Again

SAPUPLA, Oklahoma -- A former Creek County judge has been arrested again.

The Creek County Sheriff's office confirmed Donald Thompson was arrested for DUI early Tuesday morning and booked into the Creek County jail.

According to an arrest affidavit, Thompson was driving west on State Highway 117 near 49th west Avenue about 4 a.m. when he was pulled over by a Creek County Deputy for a broken tail light. 

Deputy Bobby Raines said in the report he noticed Thompson driving "from one side of the lane to the other side of the lane."

According to the affidavit, Raines said Thompson had slurred speech.  Deputy Raines also detected the smell of alcohol on Thompson's breath and noticed an open container in plain view, the affidavit said.

Raines said Thompson admitted to drinking two beers during the evening.

The affidavit states that Raines conducted three sobriety tests on Thompson and then arrested him. 

Raines then found a small silver bottle of pills in Thompson's pocket, according to the affidavit.

Thompson was transported to the Creek County Criminal Justice Center, where he took two breathalyzer tests.

According to the arrest affidavit, Thompson's first test result was 0.09g/210L and his second was 0.08g/210L.

Thompson has had several run-ins with the law over the years.

In March, a Creek County judge dismissed a protective order against Thompson because his ex-girlfriend failed to show up in court. The girlfriend said Thompson had been stalking her and had threatened to kill her.

According to Tuesday's arrest affidavit, Thompson also received a misdemeanor conviction in Tulsa County for DUI in 2008.

In 2006, Thompson was convicted of indecent exposure for using a sexual device while on the bench. He was sentenced to four years in prison, but served less than half of that.
