Porter Peach Festival Sweetens Hot July

Saturday is the final day for the 45th Annual Porter Peach Festival - and though the peach crop was low - there's still plenty of fruit and cobbler to be had.

PORTER, Oklahoma -- Saturday is the final day for the 45th Annual Porter Peach Festival - and if you're afraid there aren't enough peaches, don't be.

Yes, the peach crop was low this year, but festival organizers say there's no danger of running out.

Six in the Morning Anchor LeAnne Taylor was parade marshal, and she agreed there's still plenty of peaches - and peach cobbler - to be had.

Saturday started out with the Peach Classic Run at 7 a.m. and the parade rolled out at 11 a.m. The free peaches and ice cream went quickly.

Saturday afternoon and evening fun includes a scavenger hunt with prizes at 4 p.m., turtle races, frog jumping contest, nail drive, beard contest and balloon toss from 5 to 6 p.m.

Don't miss the talent contest from 6 to 8 p.m. and the antique tractor pull at 6:30 p.m. Then it's open mic karaoke from 8 to 10 p.m.
