Checotah Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With Student Faces New Charges

CHECOTAH, Oklahoma -- A Checotah teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenager faces new charges. The McIntosh County District Attorney now says 38-year-old Michelle McCutchan had sex multiple times with a second student.

McCutchan is charged with nine counts of second degree rape, nine counts of sodomy, two counts of providing alcohol to minors, one count of possessing child pornography and one count of child neglect.

That last count involves her own child.  Court documents accuse McCutchan of failing to protect her minor child from sexual acts that were not age-appropriate.

McCutchan's also accused of having sex with two Checotah High School students. Her lawyer would not comment on those charges.

The papers reveal McCutchan allegedly carried on a sexual relationship in the summer of 2010 with a child who is now 17 years old, and is known by the initials T.K.  McCutchan is also accused of giving T.K. alcohol inside her home.

Investigators also believe McCutchan had sex with a 16-year-old high school sophomore known as T.D.A., even sending nude pictures of herself to the boy's cell phone.  The court documents say the alleged acts occurred between December 2010 and May 2011.

Due to the investigation, the Marshall Elementary School teacher was suspended with pay. A school board member says the district won't comment on the allegations against McCutchan.

The Sheriff's deputy investigating the case was unavailable for comment.

McIntosh County's district attorney says the investigation will continue to see if more children might be involved.

McCutchan will be in court July 20, 2011.
