OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz will not play in the Arena Football League next season, announced Monday by owner Phil Miller.
“Regretfully, I must announce that I have decided not to play in the Arena Football League for the 2011 season. I have worked to secure minority investors but have been unsuccessful and have come to this decision based on numerous factors,” said Miller. “Our organization greatly appreciates the support we have received from our loyal fans, corporate partners, the City of Oklahoma City and the Arena Football League over the past seven seasons.”
The rumors have swirled the last few months, as speculation about a possible move grew. When the AFL released the 2011 Alignment, Oklahoma City was left off the list.
Miller said that the team will be in contact with those who have paid for or placed deposits on 2011 season tickets and that those monies will be fully refunded.
