NEW YORK -- Nyeshia Stevenson became the final pick of the WNBA Draft Thursday when the Phoenix Mercury selected the former Oklahoma guard/forward No. 36 in the third round.
The Arkansas native averaged 16.4 points and 4.4 rebounds this past season for the Sooners. Stevenson was one of three Oklahoma players selected in the WNBA Draft. Amanda Thompson was picked in the second round by the Tulsa Shock. Center Abi Olajuwon was selected earlier in the third round by the Chicago Sky.
The Mercury won the 2009 WNBA championship.
