Bartlesville Teacher Charged With Rape Resigns

BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma -- A Bartlesville school teacher charged with rape and sodomy involving a 16-year-old student last month has resigned from the school district.

The Bartlesville school board accepted 47-year-old Jeffrey Wade's resignation at its meeting Monday night.

Wade was scheduled for dismissal hearing before the school board on January 13, 2011.

Wade had taught computer applications at Bartlesville's Mid-High School when he was arrested by a sheriff's deputy following an incident on a county road November 4, 2010.
