TULSA, OK -- He's taken his business to 10 states. But, an Oklahoma entrepreneur is covering new ground in his own backyard. Mazzio's founder Ken Selby made it home to Tulsa after a trek along Route 66.
The 73-year-old businessman and his walking partner left Oklahoma City last Saturday and followed Route 66, walking all the way back to his original Mazzio's location across from the University of Tulsa, near 11th and Florence.
Supporters fired off air-horns and rang cowbells as the pair made their final steps. They were welcomed with hugs and kisses at the finish line.
"Some of the Route 66 was pretty tough walking, because no shoulder. We had to walk in the weeds and we had to contend with chiggers and weeds, and we got a few skinned spots and a few bites," said Mazzio's Founder Ken Selby.
Selby says he'll tackle another walking challenge, but hasn't decided where.
