TULSA, OK -- One Tulsa school is trying to show students that you don't have to a pop star to shine.
On Wednesday, the Deborah Brown Community School hosted its John W. Jones Role Model Program. It allows kids to come face to face with a local professional.
News On 6 anchor Latoya Silmon shared her story with more than 200 Deborah Brown students at the Jazz Hall of Fame.
Silmon said she wanted them to know that through education can make your dreams come true, no matter what your background may be.
